A transmembrane enzyme that conducts the conversion of ADP to ATP, utilizing the kinetic potential energy of a concentration gradient across a membrane. It allows release of the pressure of the gradient, resulting in the enzyme rotating, which it then uses to synthesize ATP using ADP and phosphate ions.
